Her appointment signals Bay State Milling’s commitment to advancing oat innovation.

USA – Bay State Milling Co. has announced the appointment of Jaime Goehner as senior vice president and general manager of its oat milling business unit, marking a strategic move to strengthen its position in the strategically important and growing market for oat-based ingredients.
Goehner brings nearly two decades of experience in the food and agriculture sectors, with a career spanning leadership role at Cargill and British Petroleum.
Goehner’s background includes extensive work in commercial operations, risk management, and agricultural supply chains, particularly in soybeans, oilseeds, and specialty seeds and oils.
Most recently, she led global business development for novel feedstocks at British Petroleum, where she focused on innovative sourcing and sustainability initiatives.
Her appointment signals Bay State Milling’s commitment to advancing oat innovation with an emphasis on nutrition, traceability, and regenerative agriculture.
“I’m excited to build on the strong foundation the team has established and to explore new ways to create value, from strengthening our identity-preserved supply chains to deepening customer partnerships,” said Goehner.
Her passion for agriculture and sustainability is reflected in her volunteer work at a local food bank and her role on the board of the Minnesota AgriGrowth Council.
Bay State Milling CEO Pete Levangie expressed confidence in Goehner’s leadership, noting her experience and vision will be instrumental in guiding the company’s oat portfolio, which is considered a strategic priority.
Goehner succeeds Kerry Keating and Walker Humphries, who will support her transition through the end of August.
Founded in Quincy, Massachusetts, Bay State Milling is one of the largest privately held, family-owned millers in the United States.
The company operates 10 processing locations across the U.S. and Canada, offering a diverse portfolio that includes traditional and gluten-free flours, grains, seeds, mixes, and blends.
With consumer demand for oat-based products on the rise, driven by health-conscious trends and interest in sustainable sourcing, Bay State Milling’s investment in leadership and innovation positions it to capitalise on market opportunities.
Goehner’s appointment is expected to accelerate the company’s efforts in developing high-quality, traceable oat ingredients that meet evolving customers’ needs.
As the industry continues to prioritise transparency and regenerative practices, Bay State Milling’s oat business under Goehner’s guidance is positioned to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of grain-based nutrition.
Her leadership marks a new chapter for the company, one rooted in experience, innovation, and a deep commitment to sustainable food systems.
