AGI Joplin marks five years injury-free, wins Safety Standout Award

AGI employs its comprehensive Safety Management System (ASMS) across all global operations.

USA – Ag Growth International’s (AGI) Joplin manufacturing facility has been honored with the company’s Safety Standout Award for the fifth consecutive year, marking a significant milestone of operating without a lost-time injury (LTI).

A lost-time injury refers to a workplace incident that results in an employee missing work. This measure is widely used across industries as a benchmark for safety performance, workforce wellbeing, and operational productivity.

Paul Householder, AGI president and chief executive officer, described the achievement as a testament to the commitment of the Joplin team.
This milestone is a reflection of the pride, professionalism and care our team brings to work every day. It’s not just about avoiding injuries; it’s about building a culture where safety is second nature,” he said.

The recognition highlights the effectiveness of the AGI Safety Management System (ASMS), which is implemented across the company’s global operations. The system emphasizes proactive risk identification, corrective action, and continuous improvement, relying on both leading and lagging indicators to track progress.

Craig Sanders, plant manager at AGI Joplin, credited strong teamwork and communication for the site’s track record.

Our goal is simple: send every team member home safe, every day. This achievement reflects a culture built on training, awareness and teamwork, where people feel empowered to speak up and take action,”he said.

Established in 2017, the Joplin facility manufactures food-related equipment for the agricultural and pet food industries, including custom-built silos, platforms, hoppers, and conveying systems. Beyond its production role, the plant serves as a key community employer in the region.

Noam Silberstein, AGI senior vice-president of AGI Feed and Food, underscored the wider significance of the record.

Safety is embedded in this team’s DNA. Their attention to detail and proactive mindset set a benchmark not just for AGI, but for the entire industry,” he said.

The Joplin site is among four AGI facilities commended this year for outstanding safety records. AGI Nobleford in Alberta, Canada, also attained five years without a lost-time injury, while AGI Omaha and AGI Falls City, both located in Nebraska, each celebrated three years of incident-free operations.
