Türkiye’s grain and feed federations usher in new leadership for 2025-2028

The elections, held in April 2025, brought together representatives from over 160 feed factories and multiple flour associations that influence more than 85% of national production.

TÜRKIYE – Two of the country’s most influential industry federations, the Turkish Flour Industrialists’ Federation (TUSAF) and the Turkish Feed Industrialists Association (Türkiyem-Bir), have elected new leadership teams for upcoming terms, signifying renewed strategic direction and consolidation of industry voices.

The elections, held in April 2025, brought together representatives from over 160 feed factories and multiple flour associations that influence more than 85% of national production.

At TUSAF’s Ordinary General Assembly, held at the ATO Congresium in Ankara, Mehmet Mesut Çakmak, Chairman of Beşler Group and head of the Southeastern Flour Industrialists’ Association, was elected Chairman of the Federation for the 2025–2028 term.

The meeting, which saw strong participation from the federation’s eight regional associations, marked the end of Haluk Tezcan’s three-year tenure.

Çakmak’s appointment, widely celebrated within the sector, reflects industry confidence in his leadership experience and commitment to innovation.

Joining Çakmak are Vice Chairmen Veysi Duyan (Dicle), Ahmet Ergin Okandeniz (Marmara), and Bekir Bağış (Çukurova), forming a leadership team that spans Türkiye’s diverse flour-producing regions. Additional appointments include Alp Eskiyapan (Treasurer, Anatolia Association) and Yüksel Tezcan (Secretary, Aegean Association).

The full board features prominent figures such as Mustafa Madak (Aegean), Hüseyin Emre Tekbaş (Central Anatolian), and Kamil Adem (Black Sea), ensuring broad regional representation.

Simultaneously, the Turkish Feed Industrialists Association (Türkiyem-Bir) conducted its 39th Ordinary General Assembly electronically on April 10, 2025.

During the session,  Murat Ülkü Karakuş was re-elected as chairman, a move welcomed by members aiming to maintain continuity during a critical period of international integration and domestic policy evolution.

Karakuş will be supported by a robust board comprising 14 principal members, including leading names like Önder Matlı and Zeki Zorbaz.

The alternate board is similarly comprehensive, featuring seasoned professionals such as M. Ali Çelikten and Abdullah Tepe. Renewal also extended to the Supervisory and Discipline Boards, now staffed with members like Muharrem Sarıaslan and Dr. Sait Koca, respectively.

Türkiyem-Bir, founded in 1974, is Türkiye’s only national representative for the compound feed sector.

It currently represents 162 factories responsible for 85% of the nation’s compound feed output and holds active membership in both the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) and the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC).
