Tiffin Sandwiches acquires Love Bites

The acquisition reinforces Tiffin’s commitment to sustainable development and community investment in northern England.

UK – Tiffin Sandwiches, one of the UK’s largest and fastest-growing independent food-to-go manufacturers, has acquired the food-to-go business Love Bites, further expanding its presence in the convenience food market

Tiffin Sandwiches, headquartered in Bradford, England, has built a strong reputation over more than two decades for manufacturing and distributing a diverse range of fresh sandwiches, salads, hot eats, and snacks across thousands of locations nationwide.

The acquisition marks a significant milestone in Tiffin’s growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development and community investment in northern England.

Founded in 1991 by husband-and-wife duo Richard and Gill Smith, Love Bites has built a loyal following over 35 years, producing a diverse range of chilled and frozen products including sandwiches, wraps, rolls, pizzas, salads, and heat-to-eat items like the Lorne Square Sausage Roll and Grab & Go Calzone.

Operating from a 10,000 sq ft facility in Eccleshill, Bradford, the company supplies independent retailers, petrol stations, hospitals, universities, and corporate clients across the region.

Tiffin Sandwiches described the acquisition as a “strategic move” that aligns with its long-term vision for operational excellence and regional impact.

The company plans to invest in upgrading Love Bites’ machinery and infrastructure, with a focus on efficiency and environmentally friendly practices.

“We are thrilled to welcome Love Bites into the Tiffin family,” said Mark Salisbury, Director at Tiffin Sandwiches.

“Their established sales channels, efficient production, and dedicated workforce complement our growth objectives perfectly”.

Importantly, Tiffin has pledged to retain Love Bites’ existing staff and provide them with continued employment and development opportunities.

Co-founder Richard Smith will remain involved in the business, offering his industry expertise to guide future operations.

The acquisition comes amid Tiffin’s broader expansion efforts, including the construction of a £10 million (US$13.49M), 50,000 sq ft factory adjacent to its current site on Commondale Way in Bradford, a project expected to create 400 new jobs.

As consolidation continues across the UK’s food-to-go landscape, Tiffin’s acquisition of Love Bites signals a commitment to local manufacturing, sustainable practices, and scalable innovation.

With both companies rooted in Bradford, the deal not only strengthens Tiffin’s market position but also reinforces its role as a key driver of regional economic growth.

Additionally, with the acquisition, Tiffin Sandwiches aims to accelerate growth, improve operational efficiencies, and continue delivering fresh, high-quality convenience foods to meet evolving consumer demands.
