According to CMA, the acquisition of ForFarmers’ Burston feed mill could provide Boparan with enhanced market control.
This state-of-the-art facility seeks to triple Bayer’s maize seed production capacity in Zambia from 5,000 to 16,000 tonnes annually.
The facility boasts eight steel grain bins with a combined storage capacity of 3.9 million bushels, equivalent to approximately 106,000 metric tons.
In addition to building new silos, the Grain Office will embark on a major renovation program for existing silos built since 1985.
The acquisition could not be completed due to factors beyond the company’s control.
