Satake partners Depart to install 50TPH rice mill for Okean in Azerbaijan

The newly installed facility features Satake’s REACH 3.0 modular mills, enabling Okean to transition from traditional milling methods.

AZERBAIJAN – Depart, the official distributor of technology giant Satake Turkey, has successfully completed the installation of a cutting-edge rice mill for the Okean Company in Azerbaijan.

Completed in December 2024, this high-efficiency facility features a specially designed cleaning and polishing line with a capacity of 50 tons per hour (TPH), representing a significant advancement in the region’s rice processing capabilities.

The newly installed facility features Satake’s REACH 3.0 modular mills, enabling Okean to transition from traditional milling methods to a more streamlined and efficient production process. Cengiz Tiryakioğlu, General Manager of Depart, emphasized the benefits of this upgrade:

With the new facility, Okean bids farewell to traditional mills and now has the opportunity to optimize production processes thanks to the REACH 3.0 modular mills. These modular systems offer fast installation, flexibility, and cost advantages, enabling businesses to improve their productivity.”

Introduced by Satake in 2019, the REACH 3.0 system is a semi-assembled rice milling plant designed for medium-scale processors, particularly in regions like Southeast Asia and Africa.

The system integrates key stages of rice processing, including receiving, pre-cleaning, husking, milling, optical sorting, and packing, into a cohesive and efficient workflow.

One of its standout features is the significantly reduced installation time; the modular design allows for onsite installation to be completed in approximately two weeks, compared to the traditional three to four months required for conventional plants.

This rapid deployment enables businesses to commence production swiftly, aligning with multiple harvest cycles and enhancing return on investment.

The REACH 3.0 system also incorporates advanced sensor technologies that facilitate real-time efficiency measurements at every stage of the milling process. Coupled with AI-supported software, the system optimizes performance and can increase processing capacity.

Its modular structure provides businesses with the flexibility to adapt quickly to changing market demands, allowing for customized configurations for different products and easy reorganization of production lines, making it suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises seeking a competitive edge in the rice processing industry.

Depart, a company based in Turkey, became the official distributor for Satake, a Japanese technology giant known for its expertise in rice processing and optical sorting machines, with a strong presence in large-capacity facilities worldwide in 2018.

The collaboration encompasses not only the installation of the REACH 3.0 modular mills but also comprehensive post-installation services.

These services include training for operational staff, supply of spare parts, and ongoing technical support, ensuring that clients can maintain optimal performance and productivity in their milling operations.
