With its advanced high-frequency radar signal, RadarMax excels at penetrating dust and vapor, ensuring dependable and precise level measurement

USA – SafeGrain, a leading provider of grain quality monitoring and safety solutions, has introduced the latest generation of its RadarMax continuous radar level monitoring sensor, designed to perform reliably in even the most demanding grain storage environments.
The newly enhanced RadarMax incorporates a high-frequency radar signal that effectively penetrates dust and vapor, ensuring accurate and consistent level measurements in bins, silos, and other storage structures.
Built for both performance and durability, the upgraded model offers expanded functionality and easier integration with existing monitoring systems, further enhancing efficiency and operational safety in grain handling facilities.
“RadarMax reflects SafeGrain’s ongoing commitment to providing practical, durable, and technology-driven solutions for the grain industry,” said Zach Carr, president of SafeGrain.
He added that this new generation of RadarMax gives operators the real-time data they need, whether they’re in the field, the control room, or on their phone.
Founded in 1954 and headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, SafeGrain has established itself as a trusted name in grain aeration, dust control, hazard monitoring, and quality management.
The new RadarMax features a measurement range of up to 100 feet, allowing versatile use across different types of storage infrastructure. Its advanced non-contact radar design ensures high-precision readings unaffected by dust or debris, addressing one of the most persistent challenges in grain storage environments.
For installation flexibility, the device comes with a 10-degree adjustable swivel flange and an optional 30-degree angled standpipe, making it suitable for a range of bin designs and configurations.
Ease of use has been central to the redesign. The sensor includes an integrated programming and display puck, allowing for simplified setup and on-site calibration. It also supports dual outputs with standard 4-20mA and RS-485 Modbus RTU connections, ensuring seamless compatibility with multiple control and data systems.
Engineered for rugged performance, RadarMax is enclosed in a dust-tight housing rated for Class II, Division 2 hazardous locations.
It meets UL NEMA 3S, 4X, 12, and 13 standards and holds an IP-68 rating for resistance to dust and water, making it suitable for long-term deployment in harsh environments.
In addition to its hardware enhancements, the sensor is fully compatible with SafeGrain’s RadarTrack PC Software, providing remote viewing, automatic alerts, time-to-empty calculations, and graph-based inventory reports.
These digital capabilities allow operators to monitor storage conditions and make informed management decisions in real time.
