Mondelez, Sargento team up to unveil new cheese crackers, expanding their product portfolio

USAMondelez International, a global leader in snacking, has teamed up with Sargento, a family-owned cheese company based in Wisconsin, to introduce a new line of cheese crackers called Sargento Cheese Bakes.

Each cracker is made with Sargento cheese and herbs, offering a flavorful, crunchy texture with cheese in every bite. The snacks will be available in three savory flavors: Aged White Cheddar with Rosemary, Pepperjack, and Parmesan with Oregano.

Starting in March, Sargento Cheese Bakes will be found in the cracker aisle at most retailers across the U.S. The crackers will be sold in 4.5-ounce pouches, priced at US$4.99 each.

“Cheese lovers deserve snacks that celebrate quality ingredients and exceptional taste. With Sargento Cheese Bakes, we are combining premium Sargento cheese with Mondelez’s expertise as a leading cracker maker to create an exciting and delicious snacking experience that showcases the best of both brands,” said Miguel Zorrilla, Vice President of Mondelez.

“Creating new and flavorful ways for families to enjoy real, natural cheese has been Sargento’s mission for over 70 years. For the first time, consumers will see our family-owned brand outside the dairy case and in the cracker aisle, thanks to our ongoing partnership with Mondelez,” said Erin Price, General Manager of Sargento.

Founded in 1953 by Leonard Gentine and Joseph Sartori in Plymouth, Wisconsin, Sargento Foods Inc. is one of the largest retail cheese companies in the country. It was the first company to sell pre-packaged sliced cheese in 1953, pre-packaged shredded cheese in 1958, and the first to develop zippered packaging for its products in 2001.

In addition to cheese, Sargento produces and markets specialty cheeses through its website and catalogs, as well as sauces, snack cheeses, snack foods, custom cheeses, and products for corporate clients.

This is not the first collaboration between Sargento and Mondelez. In 2021, Sargento Foods Inc. partnered with Mondelez International to create Sargento Balanced Breaks Cheese & Crackers Snacks, which paired Sargento cheese with Mondelez cracker brands.

These snack packs are available in four combinations, each containing 7 to 9 grams of protein and 170 calories or fewer per serving.

Flavors include Pepper Jack and Colby Jack Natural Cheeses with Ritz Mini Crackers; Gouda and Sharp Cheddar Natural Cheeses with Triscuit Mini Original Crackers; Monterey Jack and Mild Cheddar Natural Cheeses with Wheat Thins Mini Original Snacks; and Low Moisture Mozzarella and Fontina Natural Cheeses with Wheat Thins Mini Sun-dried Tomato & Basil Flavored Snacks.
