Lucky Charms Unicorn Cotton Candy and Tropical Trix featuring Disney’s Moana cereals will be available at retailers nationwide starting this summer.

USA – General Mills has announced the introduction of two breakfast cereals: Lucky Charms Unicorn Cotton Candy and Tropical Trix featuring Disney’s Moana, both formulated with colors from natural sources rather than certified synthetic dyes.
The revamped cereals retain the playful, fruit‑forward taste profiles that fans associate with Lucky Charms’ marshmallow‑sweetened oats mix and Trix’s berry‑trash‑style fruit pieces but replace several synthetic color additives with hues sourced from fruits, vegetables, and spices.
The move is aimed at responding to growing consumer demand for fewer artificial ingredients while preserving the vibrant look and fun factor that drive the brands’ appeal in the breakfast aisle.
The Lucky Charms Unicorn Cotton Candy Cereal adds three new unicorn marshmallows and a cotton‑candy flavor profile designed to appeal to younger consumers and collectors, while Tropical Trix featuring Disney’s Moana Cereal ties the Trix brand to Disney’s Moana with tropical fruit notes and island‑inspired marshmallow shapes.
“Whether it’s discovering new ways to make the magic of Lucky Charms even more enchanting or bringing on-screen experiences to our cereal bowls, we’re always looking for ways to make breakfast-time moments more memorable,” said Megan Brooks, Business Unit Director of Family Favorites Cereals at General Mills.
“These cereals showcase the kind of creativity fans love, while also reflecting the progress we’re making to remove certified colors from our cereal portfolio.”
This launch is a key milestone in the manufacturer’s pledge to remove all certified colours from its US cereal portfolio by summer 2026, with a broader goal of transitioning its entire US retail portfolio by the end of 2027.
These new offerings reflect that ongoing progress while delivering bold, exciting flavors consumers love.
General Mills has confirmed that 85% of its US retail portfolio is already free of synthetic dyes.
