Cascade Milling upgrades organic flour milling plant

USA – Cascade Milling is expanding its organic flour milling facility in central Washington with a new building, as well as upgrading its retail packaging line, in order to make its packaging process more efficient and flexible.

Cascade Milling said the upgrades will allow it to offer private-label products for its range of organic flours, grains and baking mixes.

“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our facility and the upgrades to our retail packaging line,” said Justin Brown, owner and CEO of Cascade Milling.

Brown added that the new building and enhanced packaging line are a testament to the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Brown continued to express delight in the expansion as the firm will be able to offer more private label organic flours, grains, and baking mixes, further expanding their product offerings to meet the needs of their customers.

Founded in February 2015, Cascade Milling is a family-owned, vertically integrated firm that grows several thousand acres of organic wheat and other crops near the Columbia River in central Washington. The company’s mill near the company’s farm in the Columbia Basin produces several hundred tonnes of organic flour annually.

The company’s flagship brand, Just-Add-Water Organic Whole-Grain Pancake & Waffle Mix, is an outstanding product in its lineup.

This mix provides simplicity to its customers for at home usage, requiring only the addition of water to prepare pancakes and waffles. It is also nutritious, containing only six natural ingredients, and is a good source of protein and dietary fiber

A big advantage of Cascade’s organic pancake and waffle mix is its egg-free formulation. Unlike many other mixes, the company’s product does not contain eggs or require that eggs be added during the making of pancakes or waffles.

This makes it a great choice for accommodating individuals with dietary restrictions or preferences. Furthermore, this egg-free mix is not affected by shortages in egg supply or fluctuations in egg prices due to inflation, ensuring consistent availability and affordability.

Cascade Milling also said it recently donated eight tons of its organic pancake and waffle mix (equating to about 323,000 pancakes or waffles) to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank as relief aid for those affected by the recent infernos in the Los Angeles area.
