American Pet Products Association completes acquisition of The Pet Summit

USA- The American Pet Products Association (APPA) announced on November 29th that it has successfully acquired The Pet Summit, an online education and conferencing platform.

APPA is a not-for-profit industry association founded in 1958 and represents more than 1,000 pet product manufacturers, importers of pet products, and suppliers of products for non-pet livestock.

APPA supports the interests of its members through public policy, public affairs, and animal awareness.

Established in 2020, The Pet Summit has been dedicated to bringing together stakeholders in the pet industry for learning, networking, idea-sharing, and community building.

The organization has successfully hosted over 150 workshops, classes, panels, Q&A sessions, and other events tailored to supporting pet industry brand owners, influencers, and social media managers, as reported by APPA.

This strategic move is designed to enhance member services and strengthen connectivity within the pet industry.

The Pet Summit represents every pet parent, business owner, rescue organization, influencer, blogger, or pet-related website that wants to grow their following, start a business, learn the dos and don’ts of partnerships, elevate their content for better engagement, and more,”  Jeremy Baker, Chief Growth Officer at APPA, stated.

He emphasized that the acquisition not only brings APPA closer to these individuals and entities across the broader pet care community but also extends new educational resources and networking opportunities to APPA members.

The partnership between APPA and The Pet Summit began before the acquisition, with a collaborative event held at the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog in New York City in October.

This event brought together APPA members, board members, staff, and pet influencers for networking and fundraising activities to benefit the GALS Foundation. The foundation supports dogs in rural communities by providing essential services such as food pantries, vaccinations, spaying/neutering clinics, and healthcare.

Baker believes that the acquisition is a seamless fit, presenting an opportunity to open doors to new audiences and prospects. He anticipates that this move will drive success for both organizations as they work together to expand APPA’s member services.

As the pet industry continues to evolve, APPA’s acquisition of The Pet Summit signals a commitment to fostering collaboration, education, and community building within the sector.

The combined strengths of these organizations aim to elevate the pet care community and enhance the overall experience for industry professionals, influencers, and enthusiasts alike.
