ADM, Bacres Grain partner to expand grain marketing options for Ontario farmers

The agreement will allow growers in southwestern Ontario to sell grain through a wider marketing network while Bacres continues to operate its Alvinston elevator.

CANADA – ADM and Bacres Grain, managed by Group Solum, have announced a new agreement that will allow ADM to purchase and market corn, soybeans, and wheat delivered to the Bacres grain elevator in Alvinston, Ontario.

The arrangement will begin in October and will give farmers in southwestern Ontario more options when they sell their crops. Bacres Grain will keep ownership and daily operations of the Alvinston facility while ADM will handle the purchase and marketing of the grain through its wider processing, logistics, and export system.

Farmers who deliver grain to the Alvinston elevator will gain access to ADM’s wider sales channels across Ontario and in international markets. Company leaders say the partnership will help connect local producers with buyers in more regions.

Chad Quinlan, Ontario grain trading manager at ADM, said the company wants to strengthen links between farmers and global markets.

“We’re pleased to work with Bacres Grain to expand opportunities for growers in southwestern Ontario,” Quinlan said. “ADM’s processing and logistics networks help connect farmers to markets around the world, and we look forward to working with farmers in and around Alvinston to market their grain and strengthen their businesses.”

Bacres Grain leaders say the partnership builds on the elevator’s long relationship with farmers in the region.

“Partnering with ADM is something we’re genuinely proud of,” said Michaela Tessemaker, general manager at Group Solum. “Bacres Grain has always been committed to the farmers in this region, and this agreement is a direct extension of that. We’re expanding what we can offer, and we’re doing it alongside one of the strongest names in the grain business.”

Recognition for ethical business practices

The partnership announcement follows another recent development for ADM. The company has also been named one of the 2026 World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere. This marks the seventh year in a row that ADM has received the recognition.

Chair and CEO Juan Luciano said the award reflects the company’s focus on strong internal standards.

“This recognition is a reflection of our team’s commitment to doing what’s right and strengthening our culture year after year,” Luciano said. “We remain focused on transparency, accountability and continually improving the way we operate to serve our stakeholders and communities.”

Ethisphere recognized 138 organizations in 2026 across 17 countries and 40 industries. ADM was among nine companies honored in the food, beverage, and agriculture category.
